The terms governing your use of the Closetary application and services.

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Closetary mobile application and related services ("the Service") operated by Closetary Ltd ("we", "us", "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the Closetary app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Closetary provides:

  • Digital wardrobe managementOrganise and catalogue your clothing items
  • AI outfit suggestionsPersonalised outfit recommendations powered by artificial intelligence
  • Sustainability trackingCarbon footprint scoring and eco-impact analytics
  • MarketplaceBuy, sell, and swap clothing with other users

3. Account Registration

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access

3.3 Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update your information as necessary.

Premium — Closetary Pro

  • ✓ Unlimited wardrobe items
  • ✓ Advanced AI styling (body type, capsules)

  • ✓ Priority marketplace features
  • ✓ Ad-free experience

Subscription prices are displayed in the app. All prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Prices may change with reasonable notice.

5. Marketplace Terms

5.1 Listing Items

When listing items for sale, you must:

  • Accurately describe the item's condition
  • Set a fair asking price
  • Ensure you have the legal right to sell the item

5.2 Purchasing Items

Purchases are agreements between buyers and sellers. Closetary facilitates the transaction but is not a party to the sale contract.

5.3 Commission

Closetary charges a commission on marketplace sales. This is deducted before payout to the seller.

5.4 Prohibited Items

You may not list items that are:

  • Counterfeit or stolen
  • Recalled for safety reasons
  • Regulated substances or materials

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our IP

The Closetary app, including its AI engines, algorithms, design, logos, and content, are owned by Closetary Ltd and protected by UK intellectual property law.

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, descriptions). By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and process your content for the purposes of providing the Service.

6.3 AI-Generated Content

Outfit suggestions and styling advice generated by our AI are provided for informational purposes. We do not claim these constitute professional fashion advice.

7. Sustainability Claims

Our carbon scoring and sustainability metrics are estimates based on published data from UK DEFRA, WRAP, and the Higg Materials Sustainability Index. They are provided for informational purposes and should not be treated as certified environmental assessments.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Service Availability

We strive to maintain continuous service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for temporary service disruptions.

8.2 AI Recommendations

Outfit recommendations are generated by AI and are provided "as is". We are not liable for any dissatisfaction with AI-generated suggestions.

8.3 Marketplace Transactions

We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of items listed on the marketplace. Disputes between buyers and sellers should be resolved between the parties.

8.4 Maximum Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer our AI algorithms
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse promotions or gamification features
  • Engage in fraudulent marketplace transactions

10. Termination

10.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Data deletion follows our Privacy Policy retention schedule.

10.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with reasonable notice where possible.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email at least 30 days before they take effect.
